The Series 500 switchers are modular card-based systems that support a variety of analog and digital source devices and have one output that is HDMI and a buffered duplicate output that is VGA.
This card-based system provides exceptional "value-engineering" design flexibility by only requiring the boards necessary for a given solution while "future-proofing" installations for field expansion and modification at a later date. This design concept benefits the end user as well as the systems integrator. End users need only purchase what they currently need while safeguarding possible unforseen future change or expansion. For systems integrators and dealerships, this design annuitizes an installation beyond the initial installation with long term expansion opportunities.
Input card assemblies in the Series 500 will operate exceptional in any Series 500 enclosure.

MODULAR CHASSIS DESIGN
Series 500 switchers are modular card-based systems that support up to 7 analog or video devices with one output signal provided on independently buffered HDMI and VGA connectors. Each modular input board is independent of all other cards in the system. Here are a few reasons why a modular chassis valuable to dealers and end users:
Flexible. The Series 500 line of enclosures supports a wide variety of analog and digital signal formats including HDMI, VGA, DVI, and even DisplayPort. In the future, as technologies advance, the Series 500 line of enclosures can upgrade to newer technologies with a simple input board upgrade.
Cost Effective. The customer only purchases the cards that are required for the current installation. Other manufacturers charge for connectors that are likely to never be used.
Field Upgradable. The Series 500 line of enclosures are field upgradable. Add or subtract cards as necessary - all done in the field without unnecessary downtime for customers.
DIGITAL PRESENTATION SWITCHER
Series 500 presentation switchers are fully digital switchers offering backward support for analog source devices. Analog signals are converted to digital signals. Composite and S-Video signals are scaled as necessary to convert to higher resolution digital formats. This design allows customers and systems integrators to use today's higher resolution dislay devices while supporting a wide variety of sources.
ONE-TOUCH SOURCE SELECTION
A single one-touch front panel selection is all that is necessary to select a source. An LED located above each button identifies the active source selected.
NUMEROUS INPUT SIGNAL TYPES
The Series 500 line of modular switchers supports a wide range of analog and digital signal types:
HDMI
VGA
Composite and S-Video
DVI
DisplayPort
HDMI and VGA OUTPUTS
Offering both digital and analog outputs, the Series 500 line of presentation switchers offers exceptional video output flexibility. The HDMI output is designed for the primary output display device. The VGA output, a buffered copy of the HDMI, is primarily designed for video conference feeds and other legacy output devices.
AUTO-SWITCH ON SOURCE DETECT
Another convenient feature of the Series 500 line of presentation switchers is the automatic switch feature. When a source is detected, such as a laptop connected to Input 4, the Series 500 automatically selects that output to be sent to the display device. This feature can be disabled through the front panel.
70V / 100V SPEAKER OUTPUTS
In today's commercial presentation environments, 70V/100V audio systems are becoming all to common. The Series 500 presentation switchers feature a 70V/100V, efficient class D amplifier, for a speaker output at 100W. Higher voltage speaker systems means smaller cables with more speakers in parallel.
AUDIO INPUT LEVEL ADJUSTMENT
Volume control is a natural expectation for any amplifier and the Series 500 presentation switchers is no exception. However, the Series 500 also offers independent audio input level adjustments. It is not uncommon for source audio to vary from -10dB to 4dB. The resulting experience is obvious differences in volume when switching between inputs. With the Series 500, audio inputs can be adjusted to temper "hot" signals to a nominal level through easy-to-use front panel adjustments.
LINE LEVEL AUDIO OUTPUT
Line level audio is provided for video conference feeds or when audio needs to be routed to a mixing board. Using the front panel settings, the output levels of the line out can be fixed or can vary depending upon the volume controls of the Series 500 presentation switcher.
SOURCE SELECT BROADCAST (SSB)
The Source Select Broadcast (SSB) feature sends a message out the RS-232 port anytime a new source is selected. This unsolicited broadcast keeps third party controllers up to date with any input select changes occuring from the front panel or Ethernet port.
INPUT PLATE LED INDICATORS
As a debugging tool for service technicians, each input port has a bi-color light emitting diode (LED) that displays a Red color indicating Power On and a Greed color indicating that a source signal has been detected. When diagnosing problems this LED saves valuable technician time. Similarly, a second LED exists on the Control board. This LED shows serial port activity. This is also important to help diagnose communication related problems.
